Ingredients and Directions

1/4 cup millet, 1 1/2 oz, uncooked

1/4 cup barley, 1 1/2 oz, uncooked

1/3 cup brown rice, 2 oz, uncooked

1 cup onions, chopped

1 cup green bell pepper, chopped

1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped

1 each kidney beans, canned, drained

8 oz tomato sauce

1 pound tomatoes, canned, chopped, drained, reserve liquid

1 1/2 cup corn, canned, drained or frozen

1 teaspoon oregano, dried

1 teaspoon basil, dried

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 salt, to taste

1 pepper, to taste

Combine all ingredients in a crockpot. Add water to reserved tomato liquid to equal 2 1/2 cups. Stir into grain mixture. Cover and cook on low setting 8 hours. Stir before serving. Serves 8 as a side dish and 4 - 6 as a filling main course. You can use any combination of grains. Just use about 1 cupful altogether.
