1 c Soft butter

1/2 c Sifted confectioners' sugar

1 ts Vanilla

2 1/4 c Flour

1/2 ts Salt

Frosting: 1 c Sifted confectioners' sugar

1 tb Water; to 1-1/2 t.

1/2 ts Vanilla

Food coloring Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix butter, sugar and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt. roll 1/4" thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased baking sheet about 10 minutes. Cookies do not get real brown. Combine frosting ingredients and frost when cookies are cool.
