Ingredients and Directions

1 3/4 cup flour, whole-wheat, sifted

1 cup flour, unbleached, sifted

2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ginger

1/4 teaspoon cloves, ground

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup butter, or margarine, softened

1/4 cup promise ultra fat free spread, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 each egg white, whipped

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup sour cream, fat-free

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare baking sheets with cooking spray. In a mixing bowl, combine flours, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, baking soda, and salt. In another mixing bowl, combine margarine, spread, brown sugar, egg white, vanilla, and sour cream. Add dry ingredients with wet ingredients just until moistened. Cover and chill overnight. On a heavily floured surface (dough will be slightly sticky that's why more flour is needed), roll dough 1/8 inch thickness. Using a 2 1/2 inch cutters, cut dough into desired shapes. Arrange 1 inch apart on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes and lightly browned. If desired, decorate cookies with Powdered sugar Icing.
