2 cups of self-rising cornmeal
1/2 cup of flour
1 egg
1 Tablespoon of lard (cooking oil can be substituted)
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 cup of milk
Mix ingredients. The consistency should be similar to peanut butter.
Deep fry teaspoon-sized balls of the dough at moderate heat (300F)
until golden brown.
